Information reagrding Audience Targetiing

Hi All,

While working with my current client I found a big bug with MOSS. I thought of sharing with all you guys.

Client Requirement
Need to create Navigation with audience Targeting and using AD Groups only.

BUG with MOSS:-
1. MOSS does not support AD groups for Audience Targeting for Navigation. (I have not checked with other content types like Web Part and so on)

Solution:-
Now I went for the solution by creating SharePoint Groups for each Ad groups and adding those respective AD groups to SharePoint Group and then handling the Audience targeting.

Opps..........that also doesn't work.

For this to work we need to install a HOTFIX released on Jan 31, 2008. Please find the details at

After installing the patch you can work with the given above solution.
